Bayesian Algorithm

It appears that from spam filtering to TV channel personalization, the term "Bayesian Algorithm" keeps poping up recently. Curious what it is really about, I began to search the web for answers. Bayesian algorithm seems to be a statistics method that is more 'opinionated' than the traditional method.
